Where to Find an Electrical Apprenticeship in Dallas

North Texas JATC Union Apprenticeship
The North Texas JATC is part of the most extensive electrical Apprentice training program in the United States. NTJATC is also affiliated with North Lake College in the Dallas Community College District. It lasts 5 years, which divides 8,000 hours of OJT and 192 hours of in-class learning.
This program is a direct line to becoming a union worker, which offers its own unique benefits.

Qualifications
Applicants for this program must meet the following minimum qualifications before securing an interview:
- 18+ years of age

- Score a 4 or above on the program’s aptitude test
If you’ve met the minimum qualifications, NTJATC’s Apprenticeship Committee will schedule an interview. During the interview, you can expect questions regarding:

- Personal character
- Interest in program/electrical work

- Education
IEC Dallas Non-Union Apprenticeship
The IEC training is a 4-year program directly registered with the United States Department of Labor. You’ll receive 8,000 hours of OJT and need to complete 576 hours of in-class training.
Graduates receive certification allowing them to work anywhere in the U.S. but not be part of a union.

Qualifications
The qualifications for IEC Dallas are less stringent than NTJATC. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
